Why doesn't Professor X or Wolverine kill Magneto? Magneto is a unstable terrorist that will keep killing/maiming people until the day he dies and further estranging relations between humans and mutants, so isn't there some sort of moral duty to put a stop to him? He can't be held in prisons or be reformed, so why doesn't Professor X end it via his telepathic powers? (In as humane a way as possible, of course). THAT would make an interesting story for once.
