I think that comics being influenced by movies is an inevitable thing, and always has been. Batman got a Bat Cave because of his first movie serial in 1943, for example, and Alfred changed completely to match the film actor. The thing to understand is that for even an unsuccessful film, more people will experience that interpretation than will read any comic series–and that includes our creators. So if there’s something that’s done in a movie (or on television, or in animation, or whatever) that people think is cool, it will inevitably be reflected in the work that gets done. The one we all always point to is the design of Cerebro, which didn’t become a big spherical room until after the first X-MEN film.
